Randy Pausch's views on time management are very logical and common sense. Mr. Pausch first informs us that eliminating procrastination will help relieve some of the stress we have in our lives, which of course makes perfect sense. He compares the way we spend money with the way we should spend our time. He suggests we make to-do lists and plan ahead, acknowledging that many times we have to change our plans, and to even plan to change plans, but at least have a plan to reach our goals. I actually do this already. Another thing that I do that he suggests is to do the "ugly" thing first, or "eat the biggest frog" first.
After a quick internet search, I learned that Mr. Pausch was a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University and it appears he was a great speaker who lost a battle with cancer in July 2008. This caused me to think about the bigger picture, how his lectures inspired so many people, and still can to this day. So all of our videos, blogs, lectures and tools we invent to educate and help others will continue to change others' lives even after ours is gone.

Blog Post 1
I am a secondary education major, a sophomore, and have been at South since January 2010. I have always wanted to teach, since I was a child and would not play school with my sister and friends unless I was the teacher. They hated it because I actually made them do work and take tests! The tables have now turned. I am a student, I work two (sometimes three) jobs and am a single mother of a beautiful 6-year-old girl. Oddly (to me) she does not share my passion for school, reading, writing or history (yet). She is into the arts - dancing, acting, painting, creating crafts and making messes. I do not enjoy any of those things personally, but I participate because that's what a mother does.
My world revolves around her and school, and I squeeze work and family in wherever possible. I do not have much free time, but when I am able, I love to go to the beach, play pool, play spades, go shopping, travel, go to concerts and other events. Things I do well... Sad that I can't think of anything right off the bat! I am a transcriptionist by trade (I transcribe Sound Off for the newspaper), so I do that well. I'm a good student, friend and mother. I clean house well, another one of my professions. I also bartend and emcee parties on the side (third job), which I do well. I thought I wrote well until I had Mr. Jordan for English 102. I made the first B since starting college in his class. I haven't made another B since, but I am praying for a B in this class. That B really broke my spirit. I ramble well, as you can see. So I guess that's it! Oh and I procrastinate but usually do not turn things in late. I feel incredible anxiety and shame when turning things in late (including this assignment). I will definitely review the Time Management exercises and post on that... Later today...my first wordle
